Time has always been a fascinating topic for designers. What an exciting exercise to try to capture this intangible dimension into a physical touchable object.

As a parallel to the GRO design's project 'once upon a time' and Marc Newson's 'hourglass' presented before, Mieke Meijer offers her own interpretation of time.

Originally designed for the exhibition 'Matter of time' by the collective Dutch Invertuals, Mieke designed 3 timepieces to represent time through the evolution of mass, volume and temperature in each of the timepiece.

Exploring the opposite direction to the complex beauty of the Swiss Horlogerie, Mieke decided to look back at the most antique and primitive forms of representation of time, when each second that passed had a visual and almost palpable reality.
